Windsor Hills Elementary Middle School is working alongside with Baltimore City Public Schools to move toward the goal of building a generation of young people with the skills, knowledge, and understanding to succeed in college, careers, and community s upstanding digital citizens and learners— not just here in Baltimore, but in any city in the world.
We will support our students to become 21st Century Learners in developing self-awareness, responsible decision-making, relationship building, social awareness skills, and self-management. We will strive at teaching our students to be safe, secure, and responsible when using technology for learning or for fun. In doing so, we look to parents, guardians and the community as our partners, so we can help our students to gain skills, understandings, and qualities that will enable them to be responsible and safe in digital environments.
Each year, students will receive at least 4 hours of instruction on how to become a responsible digital citizen and learner using the Common Sense Digital Citizenship curriculum. These lessons align to the Common Core State Standards, the International Society for Technology in Education’s National Education Technology Standards (ISTE’s NET•S), and the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) Standards bringing students, families, and educators together to create world-class digital citizens for the 21st-century.
